Many thanks to Steven Krzyzyk, Community Liaison Service Rep for Caring With Honor (center in photo) for his dedication and service in the United States Navy. He attended a great turnout on November 12th at Edgewater Park in his hometown of Williams Bay, WI.
Here with fellow members of the Local VFW Post 2373, as nearly 30 Vets and Locals showed up to pay Honor and Tribute to All Veterans Everywhere.
WW1 Veteran’s from Williams Bay were honored and recognized by having their names read aloud. This year on the 11th hour, on the 11th day, in the 11th month, marked the 100th Anniversary of when Veterans Day was established, formerly known as Armistice Day.
It was not until 1938 that Veterans Day became recognized as a Federal/ legal Holiday, with the term Armistice Day still being used. However, it was not until 1947 that the first celebration using the term “Veterans Day” occurred even though it wasn’t finally approved as (Public Law 380) until June of 1954.
It’s estimated that nearly 1,000,000 American lives have been lost in all US wars, with a total of 21,000,000 Veterans still alive today.
Thank you, Veterans, for your service! We salute you.
